MariRu's Story

MariRu Design Studio is the result of many years of dreaming and learning and finally taking that step that allowed its founder to design and craft artisan made jewelry. MariRu Design Studio works with fine metals, recycled metals, gemstones and found objects and utilizes silversmithing techniques to create beautiful pieces of wearable art.

Materials Used at the Studio

MariRu Design Studio works with fine metals, brass, copper, German silver, leather, pure silver, sterling silver, recycled sterling silver, recycled copper, aluminum, gemstones, and found objects. Our metal pieces are pure and raw, they are not plated. Copper and brass tend to oxidize over time, which provides a weathered look to the piece and metals such as copper, German silver and brass can discolor the skin temporarily. I coat the copper and brass pieces with and eco-friendly sealant, but the sealant wears over time.

The composition of our metals:
Pure Silver: .999 silver
Sterling silver: 92.5 silver and 7.5 copper
Red Brass or Nu Gold is 85% copper and 15% zinc
German silver: 65% copper, 18% nickel, and 17% zinc
Copper: 100% copper
Recycled sterling silver: 100% recycled sterling silver
Recycled copper: 100% recycled copper
